Examine Yourself!

Thursday, January 29th, 2009

How often do you examine yourself?  We ought to do it on a daily basis.  Why?  Because it helps keep us in line with God’s will.  How do we examine ourselves?  Think about how you’re acting, how you’re talking, and how you’re thinking.  Ask yourself, “Was God pleased with what I did/said/thought today?”  “How can I improve?”  “What do I need to cut out of my talking/thinking/behavior?”  I find that every day I can do a little improving in my life.  There’s always something that we can change, remove, add or tweak that will help us become more Christ-like.

Work & Watch!

Sunday, November 16th, 2008

In Nehemiah 4:17 and 18 it says, “Everyone with one of his hands worked in the work, and with the other held his weapon.  Everyone had his sword girded by his side and so built.”  This hit me hard when I read it.  I realized that when we get busy working for the kingdom, fulfilling our purpose in life, we tend to slip and forget that the enemy is still watching us, thinking of ways to interfere with our work.  We cannot let our guards down for a minute.  While we do God’s will, we still need to be praying, worshiping God, warfaring and fighting off everything and everyone that comes against us.  We must continue to be watchful, vigilant and ready to fight at all times!  So keeping working but be watchful!

Mujeres Latinas

Thursday, May 15th, 2008

Mujeres latinas – Are you tired of life? Do you ever wonder, “Is this all there is to life?” Or do you ever ask, “Why was I ever born?” You are not alone. Many women feel that way, especially Latina women. Let’s face it, Latinos are not exactly known for being ambitious or successful. But I believe that is starting to change. There are certainly a lot more Latinas becoming successful women. We see it in the business world, in Hollywood and elsewhere.

Have you ever wished you could be more successful, more educated? The problem is that as long as you just “wish” for it, nothing will happen. You have to “make” it happen for yourself. Many times all women need is somebody to come alongside of them and help them through the process.

I remember when my husband and I started our first business. We asked other people how does a person start a business. We received questionable answers. I’m not sure if it was because they didn’t really know or they just didn’t want to help another person succeed. That can happen!

At Friends with Purpose™ we believe in helping women. We believe in empowering, inspiring, motivating, encouraging and helping women become who they were meant to be.

Check us out and see what we can do for you, from one Latina to another!!

Waiting for your season

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

Have you ever wanted to give up or have you given up waiting for your season to arrive, your time to shine, your moment to propel?  Don’t lose hope.  I waited anxiously for years for God to lead me to the place where I can say “I’m finally walking in my true calling.”  Have I arrived completely?  No.  I’m still in the process, but that’s the key word “process.”  God takes us through a loooooong process so that we could be humble enough, seasoned enough, educated enough, empathetic enough to be effective in our calling.  So don’t fret.  Keep waiting but with expectancy.  Don’t lose hope while you wait.  Just hang on a little bit longer and it will happen!  Expect it!

Achieving your goals

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

Did you know that 95% of people who write down goals never achieve them? One reason can be fear. People tend to fear taking a risk. They can fear the unknown. They can fear that they might fail at what they set out to do. Another reason for not achieving their goals is that they don’t get the encouragement and support they need from others. Or perhaps they have an idea but just don’t know how to go about pursuing it. People need to just “DO IT!” Once you take the first step, you realize “I can really do this. It doesn’t seem far fetched at all!” This is where a life coach can step in and come alongside the person to help them achieve those goals. Are there any other reasons why people don’t achieve their goals?
